Abg Barat (pronounced ah-bay bar-hat ) is an Indonesian colloquial term that stands for Anak Barat — literally, "Western Child" or "Western Kid." The term emerged as a social label for a specific youth archetype in Indonesia’s urban centers, particularly Jakarta, Bandung, and Surabaya, from the late 1990s through the 2010s.
