Meanwhile, Vi and Caitlyn recover and go to the council. Vi demands an army to invade Zaun and kill Silco. The council refuses—until Jayce, enraged by Silco’s attack on a Piltover shipyard, decides to take matters into his own hands. He builds a massive Hextech hammer. He and Vi lead a raid on a Shimmer factory. The raid is a success, but Vi is forced to spare Sevika when Jayce accidentally kills a Zaunite child in the chaos.

The council of Piltover, led by the cold matriarch , demands justice. The enforcer Marcus is tasked with hunting down the “terrorists” from Zaun. Jayce, meanwhile, is nearly expelled for his dangerous magical experiments. He is saved by his partner, the brilliant and terminally ill scientist Viktor , and Mel herself, who sees Hextech as a weapon to secure Piltover’s future.

The two are separated. Caitlyn, alone in Zaun, is captured and brought to Silco. Jinx, seeing Caitlyn with her sister’s scent on her, becomes violently jealous. She believes Caitlyn is a replacement. Jinx kidnaps Caitlyn and forces Vi to come to a deadly, shimmer-lit bridge connecting the two cities.
