She had watched her grieve, had watched her stop grieving, had watched her die alone except for a parakeet and a ghost in a server rack five thousand miles away.

Lena watched her do this for six months. He stood up

"To the subjects," he said. "To the people who don't know they're on camera. Someone out there has been sending things into the archive. Not just pulling data out. Pushing something in."

She told herself she was researching. Cataloging. But soon she stopped taking notes. She just watched.
