Go to the Shortcut tab.

A new window will pop up. Select the icon you want to change (e.g., "Recycle Bin (full)").

Click the Change Icon... button.

Locate the shortcut on your desktop. (Note: This does not work on the original .exe file in your Program Files folder unless you create a shortcut first.)

In the Personalization menu, click on Themes (Windows 11) or Themes in the left sidebar (Windows 10). change icon desktop

This guide will walk you through changing the main system icons, as well as individual shortcuts for programs and folders. These are the default desktop icons that come with Windows. To change them:
