Dolphins possess magnetic-based navigation abilities (magnetoreception), possibly via biogenic magnetite. This paper reviews evidence for dolphin magnetic sense and proposes a mechanism for Magnetic Jamming (MJ) — disruption of orientation by human-made electromagnetic fields. MJ could affect stranding rates, migration, and foraging.
