I’ve been waiting for a seamless Git GUI on Ubuntu, and (now officially available for Linux via the official GitHub Desktop repository) has made that possible. I downloaded and installed it on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS and 24.04 LTS, and here’s my experience. Download & Installation Process (Ubuntu) GitHub doesn’t provide a .deb package directly on their website, but the official open-source shiftkey/desktop repository on GitHub maintains Linux builds.
