And then Illustrator closed.
It began, as these things often do, with a deadline. Elara, a children’s book illustrator, was three days past due on a spread featuring a dragon made of autumn leaves. Her Wacom tablet hummed. Her coffee grew cold. And her heart thumped a quiet, frantic rhythm. illustrator unknown error now

Elara’s hand hovered over her mouse. She should unplug the computer. She should run. But the dragon’s eye—the one she had loved, the one made of autumn and memory—was still visible, trapped in the corner of the gray, blinking slowly.
The dragon’s leaf-wing detached from its body, curled into a question mark, and floated off the screen. The background—a gentle forest—began to blur at the edges, colors bleeding like wet watercolors into a single, mournful gray.
