One day, Unnikuttan took Pappu to the shop. The egg shop owner there saw Pappu and laughed. “Oh, what is this puppy? It’s a limping one!” Unnikuttan felt sad inside.

Unnikuttan laughed. He went home and told his mother: “Mom, Pappu doesn’t limp for our laughter. He is protecting the flowers that fall and wither on the ground!”

Unnikuttan then remembers: Pappu always walks with his head lowered to the ground. But he had never noticed—when Pappu limps, he smells the tiny little flowers, the grass, and the seeds on the ground.
