Introduction In the rich tapestry of Southeast European folk traditions, certain practices remain obscure to outsiders yet serve as pillars of local identity. Utah Patak is one such phenomenon. First noted in passing by Serbian ethnographer Tihomir Đorđević in 1932 as “a curious game of ducks among young people in the Drina valley,” the term has since appeared sporadically in regional folklore journals.
