A UV pass refers to the process where a material (resin, adhesive, or coating) is exposed to ultraviolet light to initiate photopolymerization. Proper UV pass management ensures full cure depth, surface hardness, and adhesion.

A UV Pass is a specialized render element that encodes the UV texture coordinates of a 3D model into an image (usually in RGB channels: U = Red, V = Green). This allows you to re-texture or mask specific areas of an object directly in post-production without re-rendering.

A UV pass filter (often misnamed – actually a UV block filter) allows visible light to pass while absorbing ultraviolet radiation. On film and digital sensors, UV can cause atmospheric haze, blue casts, and reduced contrast.
