Windows 7 Wipe Hard Drive ❲QUICK – 2025❳

In this post, I’ll walk you through exactly how to so your data stays private forever. Why “Delete” and “Format” Are Not Safe When you delete a file on Windows 7, the operating system only removes the reference to that file—like tearing a name out of a library’s card catalog. The actual book (your data) stays on the shelf until something new overwrites it.

Insert your Windows 7 installation DVD or USB drive. Restart the PC.

Use free software like Rufus (on a Windows PC) or balenaEtcher (on Mac). Point Rufus to the DBAN ISO and write it to your USB drive.

Back up anything you need (documents, photos, etc.).

Select each partition and click Delete until you have only “Unallocated Space.”

When you see “Where do you want to install Windows?” – don’t click Next yet.
