Mary is not amused.
“Mother, your organizational system is inefficient,” Sheldon announces, tapping his glasses. “You’ve packed my noise-canceling headphones in your toiletries bag. Statistically, that guarantees a middle-of-the-night phone call about a snoring husband.”
Meanwhile, at Meemaw’s house, chaos reigns. Missy has invited her friend Paige (the child prodigy who’s now in a rebellious phase) over. Paige is drinking a contraband soda and teaching Missy how to hotwire Meemaw’s golf cart. Sheldon, back from the hospital, walks in and calmly says, “The ignition wires are red and yellow. Missy walks in, steals a piece of bacon, and mutters, “Just go already. I’ll handle the robot.”
At the B&B, George tries to set the mood. He’s lit a candle (it’s pine-scented and gives Mary a headache), put on soft music (Kenny Rogers, which Mary loathes), and worn a button-down shirt that hasn’t been ironed since 1991. Mary is not amused
“No, no,” Dr. Hodges assures. “More like… his brain processes visual information too fast for his optic nerve to keep up. It’s a hardware-software mismatch. But he’ll need an EEG.”
As she drives away, George opens the B&B’s mini-fridge, pulls out a beer, and toasts the empty room. “Happy anniversary.” Sheldon, back from the hospital, walks in and
Paige rolls her eyes. “You know, Sheldon, for a guy with a ‘special brain,’ you’re no fun.”
