Inside, Hetty is dictating a "welcome speech" to Alberta, who rolls her eyes. "No one wants a lecture on the spoils of industrialism, Hetty." Isaac, meanwhile, is trying to levitate a quill to write his own memoir, convinced that "practice makes spectral."

Flower convinces Thorfinn to "astral project" (which they cannot do) by staring at a lava lamp Jay bought. They fail, but in the process, they invent a game: "If we could possess a car, where would we go?" Flower wants to drive to a 1974 Grateful Dead show. Thorfinn wants to rampage through an Ikea. The game becomes weirdly touching.

Then: a knock. Not a living knock. A ghostly triple-tap—the signal of a new arrival.
