Lump | Sweat Gland

Introduction A "sweat gland lump" is a general term for any abnormal, localized swelling or growth arising from the sweat glands in the skin. These lumps range from common, benign, and self-limiting conditions (like a blocked sweat duct) to rare tumors that require medical intervention. Sweat glands are divided into two main types: eccrine glands (found everywhere, produce watery sweat for temperature control) and apocrine glands (found in armpits, groin, and areolae, produce thicker, odor-producing sweat). The specific type of lump often depends on which gland is involved.
